In this Learning Lab episode, host Celina Bley sits down with Todd Pauley, the Deputy CISO and Cybersecurity Coordinator at the Texas Education Agency, and Karen Fuller, the Director of Network Infrastructure & Communications at Cypress Fairbanks ISD, to discuss the challenges school districts face in their journey to protect their cybersecurity infrastructure.
Todd Pauley serves as the Deputy CISO and Cybersecurity Coordinator at the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Along

years' experience in various areas of
information technology, Todd has been serving TEA since 2013. Before finding his calling in cybersecurity, he
has held roles in desktop support, system administration, network engineering, front-end development and even
spent some time as an IT auditor conducting risk assessments of internal applications at TxDOT. A West
native, Todd also provided IT support for school districts there before moving to Texas in 2004.

Celina Bley, Ph.D.
Dr. Celina Bley is the Associate Director of Training and Education at the Texas School Safety Center, located
at Texas State University. She started at the Center in February 2019 and brings with her 18 years of district
administrator experience in the Central Texas... area. She began in
the field as a Communications Director and
worked her way up to Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations which included school safety for a 6A
District. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Education in the field of Adult, Professional and Community
Education from Texas State University. Dr. Bley received her Master of Arts in Adult and Developmental
and her Bachelor of Arts in German.
