Reunification for Schools Tabletop Exercise

In-Person Training

About the Reunification for Schools Annex

The Reunification for Schools Annex provides clear guidance to help districts plan for, respond to, and recover from reunification operations following an emergency incident, disaster, and event. It defines essential roles, procedures, and coordination between school personnel, local law enforcement, local fire department, emergency management, and responders to ensure a unified approach and efficient process. The annex outlines key considerations, compliance actions, and available resources to strengthen accountability, communication, and safety for students, staff, and families during reunification.

About the Reunification for Schools Tabletop Exercise

The Reunification for Schools Tabletop Exercise will enable districts to assess current reunification procedures, identify gaps, and reinforce best practices that support the safety, security, and well-being of students, staff, families, and the whole community.

The 8-hour exercise, developed in collaboration with the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, emphasizes a unified, scalable approach to managing complex incidents designed to strengthen preparedness and operational coordination. Through a facilitated, scenario-driven discussion, participants will examine roles and responsibilities, reunification operations, and coordination processes involving campus personnel, emergency management, law enforcement, and other emergency responders.

Participants will also explore key considerations, decision-making challenges, training resources, and emergency response protocols to enhance reunification planning.
