Mission and Goals

Our mission is to provide quality, state-of-the-art, scientific research-based, interactive ”Best Practices” crime prevention curricula and training.

Our goal is to work with the Texas School Safety Center, Texas Department of Homeland Security, and TCLEOSE to design training to assist communities and schools in mitigating/preventing, preparing for, responding to and recovering from the myriad of threats facing them today.

Institute for Criminal Justice Studies Overview

The Institute for Criminal Justice Studies is under going some major curriculum revisions and updates to bring all of our current lessons up-to-date. In addition, we are researching and developing many “New” state-of-the-art, interactive, virtual reality – active learning best practices from lessons learned curricula, lessons and complete courses which address a myriad of current threats facing our schools, communities and our law enforcement officers. ICJS and the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) are in collaboration for many of these new courses. ICJS has partnered with leading experts in the field of law enforcement, school safety, counter-terrorism, and other homeland security related subjects. Some of our new partners include Signature Science, LLC.; Instinctive Shooting International Incorporated (ISIINC), former Israeli soldiers who bring state-of-the-art mitigation and defense training along with a plethora of first hand experience in dealing with and countering terrorism; Responsive Learning; and Parks Place, LLC. ICJS is continually researching and forming partnerships with the best expert companies and organizations in the country, to ensure we deliver the absolute best training possible.

Contract Training

Our mission in part is to provide quality, TCLEOSE certified training to our constituents. We are especially in tune with the needs of smaller agencies that must search for fair-priced training for their employees. Registration fees in addition to travel, lodging and per diem are often cost prohibitive. We offer courses in San Marcos or we can send a mobile training team to your location and offer special contract rates to accommodate your training needs, requirements, and budget constraints. Hosting a local area contract training in your city/county can save your agency money. Each training can be customized to fit the needs of the participants, provided there are a minimum of 25 people. ICJS can help you get the word out to other agencies in your area to help fill the minimum 25 participant requirement. To find out more information about the training possibilities and our cost-advantageous prices, please contact our office. We will work with you.
