TxSSC Statewide Youth Leadership Group
At TxSSC we recognize the importance of involving youth. Were creating a statewide youth leadership group to help drive, influence, and contribute to our services. This group, made up of all types of leaders from across the state, will be responsible for creating a plan-of-action and "voting" on TxSSC proposed initiatives targeted toward youth. Each member will also be required to take action in their communities by participating in and organizing community-wide school safety events.
Qualifications
- at least 15 years old or entering Freshman year
- classified as Junior or BELOW during first year of service
- able to communicate effectively and efficiently
- tobacco, alcohol and other drug-free
- passionate about promoting school safety messages
- able to prioritize commitments while meeting academic responsibilities
- willing to take risks and learn new things
- open-minded and respectful of others
- able to attend required functions
- a team player who likes to have fun and meet new people
